Starting Kindergarten is an exciting milestone for children and their families. This page contains important information to help you prepare for your child's transition to school in 2027.

Enrolment Information

Enrolments

Enrolment applications are welcome throughout the year. We encourage families to apply using the NSW Department of Education’s Online Enrolment System, or you can visit our school office to collect a paper application. Our friendly office staff are always happy to assist with any enrolment questions.

When applying, families will be asked to provide:

a completed enrolment application
proof of your child’s identity and date of birth, such as a birth certificate or passport
an Immunisation History Statement
proof of residential address. Killarney Vale Public School uses the Department’s 100-point residential address check to confirm local enrolment eligibility.

Non-Local Enrolments

Every NSW public school has a designated local intake area. Eligible students who live within our local intake area are entitled to enrol at Killarney Vale Public School.

Families may apply for enrolment at a school outside their local intake area; however, non-local enrolments are subject to the school’s enrolment availability and local enrolment buffer.

Killarney Vale Public School is currently above its enrolment availability. As a result, we are unable to offer places to non-local students at this time.

Open Day

Our Open Day gives you and your child a chance to explore our school and see our classrooms in action, helping your child become familiar with the school environment as they begin their transition to Kindergarten.

Parent/Carer Information Session

🕛 6:00pm - 7:00pm

📅 3 May

Join us after hours to learn about enrolling for Kindergarten 2027 and what our school has to offer. Meet our Kindergarten staff, Principal and administration team, learn what to expect in your child’s first year, and have your questions answered.

Play & Meet

🕛 1:30pm - 2:30pm

Families are invited to join us for relaxed Play & Meet sessions, giving children a chance to explore the classroom and enjoy activities while parents and carers connect with staff and other families.

Little Tackers Orientation Program

Our Little Tackers Orientation Program is an important part of the transition to Kindergarten. Children spend time in our classrooms learning school routines and expectations while building confidence and independence. The program concludes with a final family information session and our Teddy Bears’ Picnic, helping everyone feel ready for the exciting first day of school!

Our Principal, Ms Gerry O’Brien, loves welcoming new students and families to Killarney Vale Public School.
